UPDATE FROM THE CITY OF TULSA. Friday, May 12, 2017. 3:17 PM.
"Please note that the Brady Arts District Parking Pay Stations will not be activated on May 15 as previously anticipated. The City of Tulsa will announce the activation date once installation and logistics are complete."
WHAT'S THE NEWS?
The city recently installed new parking meters in the Brady Arts District. We're told those meters will be activated on Monday, May 15. The cost will be $1/hour.
HOW DOES THAT AFFECT ME?
To park in the Brady during business hours (Monday-Friday, 8:00am- 5:00pm), you'll have to pay the meters. If you don't pay, the city could give you a $25+ ticket. Parking during non-business hours will be free.
WHAT ARE MY OPTIONS GOING FORWARD?
36°N Members: Good news! American Parking is giving 36°N members 24/7 parking at the West Brady Lot (at the corner of Boulder and Archer) for $20/month. Contact Sarah for more info on how to get the special rate.
Non-Members and 36°N Guests: If you're stopping in for a short while, we recommend just paying the meter. If you spend a frequent amount of time in our space, you may want to look into parking permits for nearby lots.
Free Option: If you want to get your steps in for the day, most parking spaces at OSU Tulsa are free. Parking permits and vehicle registrations are not required there. Check the OSU Tulsa campus map to view available parking.
HOW DOES THIS AFFECT DAYTIME MEETUPS AND WORKSHOPS?
Unfortunately, those coming to our space for any daytime events are not exempt from paying the meters. Make sure to pay before you come in.
WHAT ELSE DO I NEED TO KNOW?
The closest meter to 36°N is on the southwest corner of Main and Cameron. However you can pay any meter. The new system doesn't rely on numbered parking spots. Rather, you'll enter your tag number to pay.
IS THERE ANY GOOD NEWS?
Yes! We're told an app is coming out later this year, so you won't have to find a meter at all. You can just pay from your phone. Keep an eye out for more details on that.
We thank you in advance for your understanding as we all start to navigate this new normal. If you have any questions or concerns about parking, please don't hesitate to reach out!
See you soon,
