The Future of Entrepreneurship with Robert Smith, Host of Planet Money

  • OSU Tulsa Auditorium 700 North Greenwood Avenue Tulsa, OK, 74106 United States (map)

Join us as Robert Smith, the host of the Planet Money podcast, talks about current business trends and the future of entrepreneurship in the flyover states.

Smith will share the story of how his team created one of the most popular podcasts in the world and how every week they make dull business news sparkle for millions of listeners. Smith will share some of the wild stories he found from around the country when NPR tried to get into the new space race and send a small satellite to the stars. He'll also share a behind-the-scenes look at how his team finds and profiles entrepreneurs for the Planet Money podcast. Attendees will leave the talk with a better sense of how every business has a story worth telling to the world, if they frame it right.

NPR’s Planet Money dives into how the global economy is affecting our lives. Smith and the podcast team specialize in making economic reporting funny, engaging and understandable. Planet Money has been known to set economic indicators to music, use superheroes to explain central banks, and even buy a toxic asset just to figure it out.

This is sure to be a fun night with lots of helpful takeaways! Admission is free and open to the public. No ticket required.

This event is part of Tulsa Global Entrepreneurship Week 2018.
