36°N Membership Manager

Job Summary: The 36°N Membership Manager represents 36 Degrees North and ensures a positive customer experience from the time someone walks in the door through all stages of their membership. This person has the natural ability to bring people together and help individuals feel seen and supported. This role is fundamental to fulfilling our mission of connecting entrepreneurs throughout Tulsa. This individual is on a never-ending quest to be great and challenge themself, as well as those around them.

Duties + Responsibilities: 

Member Development

  • Build and maintain strong, positive relationships with members 
  • Communicate regularly with members (ex. upcoming events, announcements)
  • Track and report members’ needs, problems, interests, and skills
  • Assist front desk with welcoming guests, members, and partners to space
  • Expedite the resolution of member problems and complaints to maximize satisfaction
  • Meet regularly with members (ex. check-ins)
  • Connect members with internal and external resources
  • Collaborate with programing team on community building initiatives for members
  • Identify, track, and utilize relevant community metrics (ex. repeat attendance at events, number of visits)

Member Acquisition

  • Identify ideal, prospective members
  • Collaborate with communications team for external messaging
  • Nurture prospective member relationships
  • Conduct tours of space to promote and sell membership at 36°N
  • Demonstrate knowledge of 36°N products and resources
  • Solidify the acquisition of potential members
  • Coordinate member onboarding and plan changes
  • Monitor and analyze sales performance
  • Maintain basic member billing and invoicing

Corporate Members

  • Collaborate with communications team to identify prospective corporate members
  • Develop customized membership plans for corporate members to best meet their needs
  • Manage engagement of corporate members

Management

  • Accountable for overall 36°N membership numbers, establishing strategic growth goals, and reporting to Executive Director
  • Oversee member acquisition and member development over multiple locations
  • Manage membership team through ongoing training, maintaining a safe, secure, and legal work environment, and developing personal growth opportunities
  • Provide feedback, employee recognition, and disciplinary action when necessary
  • Manage the overall operational, budgetary, and financial activities of the membership department
  • Participate in leadership meetings, plan membership team meetings, and conduct employee check-ins

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or related field
  • Excellent communication, relationship management, multitasking, and organizational skills
  • Ability to quickly build rapport with current and potential members
  • At least two years of community management experience 
  • Knowledge of entrepreneurial ecosystem and community preferred, but not required
  • Must know how to use Gmail, Google Drive, and macOS
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication and positive attitude

Physical Demands: 

  • Regular demands include talking, hearing, seeing, typing, sitting, and standing.
  • Occasional demands include lifting up to fifty pounds, walking, reaching with arms and hands, balancing, and stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.

Work Environment: 

  • This position operates full time (40 hrs/wk), Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm
  • Occasional need to utilize personal transportation; must have valid driver’s license and auto insurance
  • Indoors with moderate noise level with passage of others through work area, occasionally outdoors
