Synthetic Equity Strategies (SES) is a Tulsa-based strategy consulting company. We focus on partnering with private businesses in the lower-middle market to develop a strategy for growth that maximizes their enterprise value. We use business intelligence and data analytics to provide the owner/operator a decision support system, not typically found in small companies. Our most successful clients are either looking for an investment of capital or have identified a sale of the business as a medium to long-term goal. They realize their target harvest valuation will require a reassessment of the business’s management, processes, and products.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are searching for an experienced Business Analyst who can gather important company data from our portfolio companies and compile it into reports stakeholders and managers can use. We need someone who can take charge of a project, is comfortable doing market research and has an accounting background or strong comprehension of financial statements. Experience using QuickBooks is a plus. Our ideal candidate has demonstrated ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and translate business data into digestible information that improves corporate processes. This role provides an outstanding professional growth opportunity for anyone with entrepreneurial interests or background. The role will be in constant contact with the ownership or executive management of lower- mid-market private companies.

RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Work with accounting managers to create monthly Budget-Actual variance reports

  • Proficient use of Excel to manipulate/analyze export data into usable information for management.

  • Market research.

  • Identify business trends utilizing real data, compile analysis reports that are delivered shareholders

  • Track record or comfort using technology (Excel, Access or other Business Intelligence) tools to analyze data

  • Ability to advise non-degreed book keepers on proper use of QuickBooks.

  • Comfortable performing wide variety of duties. This position will most resemble the role of a Financial Analyst will be expected to perform some clerical duties due to the size of company and target sector of the portfolio.

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in finance or accounting

  • 1+ years of associated work experience using QuickBooks or familiarity with Accounting software

  • Advanced SQL database or Business Intelligence knowledge a big plus

  • Practical application ability with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Tableau is a plus

  • Detailed analytical aptitude and ability to communicate conclusions in writing

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

  • Salary Range: $45,000 – 55,000
