Kathy Taylor is a native Oklahoman who learned the values of hard work and responsibility early, working her way through the University of Oklahoma earning a bachelor’s degree and law degree, after losing both parents shortly after starting college. Known throughout her career as a change agent, as Mayor, she led Tulsa through the worst recession in 70 years, completed the successful BOK Center and led the development of ONEOK Field. As Oklahoma’s Secretary of Commerce and Tourism, she led the team that brought Dell to Oklahoma and kept American Airlines jobs in Tulsa. As Oklahoma’s Chief of Education Strategy and Innovation, she led a bipartisan team, including educators and legislators, to pass needed education reform legislation. She serves on the Board of Directors of Sonic Industries, an Oklahoma-based quick serve restaurant chain.
