Andrew Brister is the founder of Andrew Brister Architecture and Visualization. The company builds digital 3D renderings of existing buildings for design teams to use throughout the construction process, allowing them to know more about their building than they would with a tape measure and a photograph.
**Editor’s note: Since this article was written, Andrew sold his company— which is a major win! Congrats, Andrew!!
How, where and when do you get your best ideas?
After a lot of research and understanding and a good night’s sleep, I find that early morning, alone and in a quiet room is where I tend to jot down my best ideas. But then again, sometimes they just pop in there while I'm doing something totally unrelated; then I start research, understanding... etc.
What's a work tool or ritual that you couldn't live without?
My Pilot G2 10mm pen. If I don't have it, it's a bad day.
What skill would you like to master?
Being calm in the face of emergency and adversity. And getting a good night's sleep.
What advice would you give to someone seeking to launch or grow a business?

What's a big "win" you experienced in the past year?
I got to work with someone I could trust. This allowed me to land my biggest client to date and keep them happy.
What are you most looking forward to in the year to come?
