Maker Faire is the Greatest Show (and Tell) on Earth—a family-friendly showcase of invention, creativity and resourcefulness, and a celebration of the Maker Movement. It’s a place where people show what they are making, and share what they are learning.

Makers range from tech enthusiasts to crafters to homesteaders to scientists to garage tinkerers. They are of all ages and backgrounds. The aim of Maker Faire is to entertain, inform, connect and grow this community.

The original Maker Faire event was held in San Mateo, CA and in 2015 celebrated its tenth annual show with some 1100+ makers and 145,000 people in attendance. World Maker Faire New York, the other flagship event, has grown in four years to 600+ makers and 80,000 attendees. Detroit, Kansas City, Atlanta, Milwaukee, Orlando, Pittsburgh, San Diego, Silver Spring, Ottawa, Lisbon, Paris, Rome, Berlin, Newcastle, Hannover, Oslo, Trondheim, Seoul, Singapore, Taipei, Tokyo, and Shenzhen are the home of larger-scale, “featured” Maker Faires. In addition, over 120 community-driven, independently organized Mini Maker Faires are now being produced around the United States and the world—including right here in Tulsa.

Maker Faire is supported by Make: magazine and Maker Media.

We teach people to code because we believe that the people making technology should accurately reflect the diversity of those using it.

We want to push for all kinds of diversity in tech: gender, race, sexual orientation, ability, and class. Women were the first population we focused on, but aren't the last.
We value acceptance, enthusiasm, and hard work. The RailsBridge community thrives on optimism and a love for making great things.

What's a RailsBridge Workshop?

Our most well-known efforts are free weekend workshops where women learn Ruby on Rails from volunteers. The students at our workshops range from folks who are completely new to programming to QA engineers and professional developers who want to learn Rails. During the Installfest (usually on a Friday evening), we get students' laptops setup with the requisite technologies. The next day, we break into small group based on experience level and build a web app! (When we aren't teaching Ruby and Rails, we teach HTML & CSS.)

Simply put: I help people get unstuck from where they are and start right. Particularly, I focus on helping underserved entrepreneurs and young professionals develop clear vision, a strong foundation, and a practical action plan for their startups, projects, or personal life goals.  I do this in four ways:

Creative Services

For over 8 years, I have developed branding for dozens of non-profits, for profits, and soloprenuers. Not only do I develop your brand message, market, and concept, I can also execute the development of it from start to finish. Your brand is simply your reputation and your message communicated as consistently as possible in every medium you use. I help to unify this message, visually and verbally,  across all of your platforms. From website design to logos, brochures to billboards, I can develop a brand and strategy to help you maximize your footprint in the marketplace.

Consulting & Life Coaching

I provide great one-on-one experiences with individuals seeking help getting unstuck. Whether you are launching a business,  trying to pick a major, figuring out your purpose, or wanting to change careers,  I offer extensive coaching packages to help you begin with a solid foundation.

Events

I am passionate about creating amazing experiences that help groups of people be inspired and develop tangible action plans to bring their dreams to life. In November 2013, I launched the Dreamstart Entrepreneurship  Conference as our flagship event. We are working on several more opportunities as well to expand our brand to help more people accomplish their dreams.

Speaking

My heart is to inspire others to action. I have dedicated my life to empowering groups of people to get unstuck and live a life pursuing their purpose and dreams. I am more than just inspirational hype, but provide detailed action steps to help your group tangibly realize their dreams. I am available to speak at corporate events, universities, conferences or anything in between.
